A health-tech company founded by Hjalmar Nilsonne & Daniel Ek
Developed over four years, the technology uses the latest advancements in sensors and AI, with multiple clinical studies running to show efficacy
The technology can play a significant role in shifting the healthcare system from reactive symptom treatment to disease prevention
Stockholm, Sweden, February 2, 2023 – Neko Health, a novel health-tech company founded by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek, launches publicly today after four years of research and product development. Neko's vision is to create a healthcare system that can help people stay healthy through preventive measures and early detection.
In today’s primary care system, doctors do not have the time or resources to focus on prevention of disease. Often, health issues are not detected until a patient develops more serious symptoms, leading to personal suffering and high-cost treatments. It is more important than ever to pay attention to the importance of early detection and preventative care.
"Current healthcare systems and primary care processes were designed over half a century ago —and have barely changed since. In addition, the cost of healthcare has increased exponentially in the past few decades, and we need to find a way to reverse this trend.” said Daniel Ek, co-founder of Neko Health. “I have long believed that the future of efficient and affordable healthcare lies in proactive, preventative care. We service and inspect our cars like clockwork every year, but wait until our bodies crash before we act? That doesn’t make sense.”
Starting today, people who have skin and heart concerns can experience the Neko scan and get an extensive examination of their health. The scan is non-invasive, takes just a few minutes to perform and is followed immediately by an in-person doctor’s consultation to discuss the results. All diagnostic results are ready during your visit – no waiting is required. The Neko scan is a truly personalized experience centered around you, and it seamlessly tracks changes over time - so you do not have to.
“Imagine a future where serious diseases are caught and prevented before they even have a chance to develop. With our technology and AI, that future is now a possibility. We have designed a potentially game changing healthcare experience that can be the basis of a new way of thinking about healthcare” said Hjalmar Nilsonne, CEO and co-founder of Neko Health.
Neko’s system is designed from the ground-up to always be learning and improving. This is achieved in part by investing in research and science collaborations. Currently, there are four clinical studies that are being conducted at Neko Health.
